All cards on the table..!! The “treasure” I’ve been hunting & securing as a surprise birthday gift for Ivonne is: a 10-week old Chihuahua Puppy! Ivonne adores her very much! We’re naming her Peanut Butter, you may just call her Peanut. She’s a very energetic, responsive, and sociable puppy! Ivonne & I will have a joined custody of her, and we’ll team up to raise Peanut with much love & infinite exposures of the beautiful world outside her. We want her to grow up to be a really smart & expressive Chihuahua!

On that day, we also gave out unlimited supply of delicious cakes to our citizens (students & parents & nannies & teachers) and to all Music Republic visitors. If you had come to Music Republic on that day, you would have had your share of chocolate muffins, eclairs, fruit pies, cheesecakes, and many more!

Ah yes, and on behalf of Ivonne,  I’d also like to thank everyone who had been very kind for sending in cakes & personalised surprises & other generous gifts. I can’t possibly post all pics, but I thought I’d post at least one for you to see.

A dear friend of ours, Poppy Arifin, sent this cupcakes (Thank you, Poppy! You’re as sweet as the sweetest cupcakes!).  When they first arrived, I was intrigued by how the figurine on the top of cupcake really looked like Ivonne (with her hair, necklace, and oversized watch). Later, we found out that Poppy specially ordered these personalised & customised cupcakes from Hana Cupcakes. I’ve checked out the website and was awed by the level of intricacy of the fondant & butter-cream decoration in each and every cupcake! I learned that she (Ratri Muditasari, the talent behind Hana Cupcakes) did her research before deciding on the design of each order. She browsed online and found a picture of Ivonne in Kompas, and she made a fondant replica of Ivonne! No wonder I see a striking resemblance! Not only that, the music she wrote on top of the other cupcakes are real melodies from Chopin Étude Op. 10 no. 3. It has become very apparent that Hana cupcakes are made with so much thoughts behind them, and with so much love & passion poured in each & every one of them! Later on that day, MUSIC REPUBLIC CHORUS (which consists of some of the sweetest people in the planet, who are now our dearest friends), prepared a special surprise party for Ivonne. I was supposed to take Ivonne out on a birthday dinner (without Ivonne knowing that the whole pack was already there waiting). Everything went as planned, except for a little “reversed surprise”. While I was driving & nearly reaching the destined restaurant, I was to inform the keyperson, so they could prepare for the BIG surprise. I did send a text, but the message never got through. So when Ivonne finally arrived and walked through the entrance gate, all 20+ people were not prepared to see her yet. There were silence, and they just stood there speechless & shocked. Ivonne was pleasantly surprised to see the whole group there, but she was confused of how everyone is so SURPRISED to see her! *LOL*. So instead of 1 “surprised” birthday girl, there were actually 20+ “more cutely suprised” friends! After about 15 seconds of inactivity, the group quickly cought up & sang the HAPPY BIRTHDAY songs in many languages, gave Ivonne hugs & kisses,  and finally proceed with the planned party. I took a snap of the decorative top of the scrumptious chocolate birthday cake: a GRAND piano!
