We went to watch T’ang Quartet’s performance last Thursday in Erasmus Huis. The producer of the concert was a friend of ours, so despite the heavy traffic, we knew we had to persevere. We really wanted to be there to show support for our friend.

Honestly, I didn’t really set any expectation for the concert before then. But as soon as I sat down and the T’ang Quartet began playing, I was just BLOWN AWAY! Their music was deeply captivating and intensely charismatic ! Their performance was so powerful, that they’re able to transport the audiences to a world beyond our own realms. For a moment in time, I forgot about the present, and my imagination ran wild to travel through such intricate & faintly restrained, billowy fascination. My breath was just constantly taken away. They are, without any doubt, WORD-CLASS performers!

In the concert, they played: Haydn’s String Quartet in G major, op. 77 no. 1 ” Lobkovitz”; Piazzolla’s Tango Ballet; and Ravel’s String Quartet in F major (M. Ravel). To learn more about T’ang Quartet, you may visit their website.

It has really been a while since I heard music THAT beautifully played live to my ears. I really needed it :).  For music like that, I’d go through even the worst traffic in the world!

(And now I listen to their CDs (Made in America & The Art of War) in my car while driving through my everyday traffic).
