Last Friday, we went to Usmar Ismail hall to watch Al-Izhar Community Orchestra & Al-Izhar Community Choir in concert. MUSIC RÉPUBLICAIN is one of the sponsors, and the orchestra & the choir have been practicing in our school for quite some time, so we were really looking forward to watching them in real action!
And what a jolly collaboration it was! Everybody sang and played with their hearts, and they were really enjoying themselves too! We enjoyed every minute of their performance! Both the choir and the orchestra consist of different roles within the Al-Izhar community: there were students (from year 1 - year 12), teachers, alumni, parents, and friends of Al-Izhar. That’s why it is called a community. They performed total 15 numbers, where 13 out of these 15 numbers were arranged by Dwiani “Indri” Indraningsri. Other than that, Indri also conducted all 15 numbers (see picture: Indri is the conductor). She did an absolutely brilliant job both with the arranging & conducting. We thought that her musical aspiration really transcended that evening. She received a full standing ovation at the end of the concert, and deservedly so.
We were very proud to be a part of such warm & wonderful community. Kudos to everybody!
PS: Indri is also teaching in MUSIC RÉPUBLICAIN, and she happened to be my personal flute teacher. She’s very young ( 2 years younger than me), and very very very talented! We couldn’t have been more proud of her.
