Since I love reading and and I read many books in a week, I thought that it would be a good idea to post some of my selected book titles (books that are REALLY worth reading) here. I might even type up some of the key learning points too. Enjoy!
Some key learning points:
- “Black swans” are highly consequential but unlikely events that are easily explainable–but only in retrospect
- Black swans have shaped the history of technology, science, business and culture
- The human mind is subject to numerous blind spots, illusions and biases
- Statistical tools such as the “power -law distribution” are far better at modeling many important phenomena than the “bell curve”
- Most forecasting is pseudoscience
- You can learn to overcome your cognitive biases and appreciate randomness.
