Teater Koma: Republik Petruk

A couple of days ago, we watched “Republik Petruk” –a work by the critically acclaimed Teater Koma, in Graha Bhakti Budaya Taman Ismail Marzuki . As you might have known, “Republik Petruk” is Teater Koma’s 116th production, and is the last sequel of the Republik Trilogy written by Nano Riantiarno (1st: Republik Bagong (2001), 2nd: Republik Togog (2004)).

It was a 4-hour worth of theatrical production deserving much praise. I found the whole performance really quite extraordinary: the colourful harajuku-inspired costumes built on javanese wayang fundamental, the meticulousness of the  decorative props design, the crisp vocal projection of the casts, the rich live music, vivid lighting design,  and many other artful precision. I can’t imagine the formidable work that must have gone into creating & putting together such production. And of course, the stunning Cornelia Agatha was always such a delight to watch. She really is an exceptional artist: wonderful acting, beautiful singing. Simply brilliant!

Our dear friend Fero Aldiansya played in the orchestra (yes, the one who played the trumpet extremely well!, who was also the stage manager of our previous Hairspray Concert). The lighting designer Donnie also happened to be the engineer who completed the lighting installation in our concert hall. Kudos to them too!

“Republik Petruk” plays every day from January 9th-25th (except Mondays). That makes tonight & tommorow their last 2 performances. You still have time to check them out!

    salam budaya!!!

    teater koma yang heboh, kita teater micro Tuban, Jawa Timur. pengen banget liat penampilan teater koma. tapi, kita udah liat di internet tapi kok ngga ada yach?

    kalo bisa tolong dong teater kami di kirim lewat email ini salah satu videonya, biar bisa jadi refrensi buat teater sekolah kami.

    Mas, ini trailer TANDA CINTA yang akan pentas di SALIHARA 15 s/d 24 Mei 2009 nanti. YouTube memang hanya bisa memasang video sepanjang 10 menit maksimalnya, jadi maaf karena kami jadinya agak kesulitan memasang video penuh satu pementasan.
