Hi peeps! How have you been? Hope things are great at your end! I realise I haven’t been writing as much as I used to, and therefore, have been missing out on several updates. So here are some of the things I meant to tell you:
Update #1 : BRAND NEW WEBSITE
We’re proud to announce that our website is officially published with a brand new face! Do check it out at: www.music-republic.com (or click on the MUSIC RÉPUBLICAIN sidebar link of this blog). Ivonne & I designed it ourselves, I hope you like it as much as we do!

Update #2: TALKSHOW IN INTERNATIONAL VILLAGE
It’s been over a week after my last talkshow in International Village Education Fair. The committee informed me that the feedback from the participants & educators was very positive! And some schools specifically asked if there could be any possibilities of having me as guest-speaker in their events. That surely made my day! There’s nothing better than knowing that you’ve done something whole-heartedly, and that what you’ve done has had its own share of inspiring other people :). So thank you for being such cooperative & warm-hearted audience! (PS: I snapped a quick picture with my previous high-school teacher, Bu Elizabeth, who looked still as stunning and still as young as I remembered her to be 7 years ago. I was ecstatic to find her amidst the audience. Don’t I miss her so much!)
Update #3: MY VIOLIN & FLUTE LESSON
I’m going to start taking violin & flute lesson this week in MUSIC RÉPUBLICAIN! Yayy! Both Ivonne & I are great-believers that: It’s never too early, and it’s never too late to learn! I’ve never played flute before, and I’m learning it first time now. Isn’t it great to be taking a break from our busy-ness & routines for a 30-minute music lesson on the instruments of our own choice? I seriously think that music is one of the most beautiful expressions of human beings’ hearts & minds ever invented! And it would be a HUGE pity if we do not take the time to learn any single musical instruments at all in this lifetime. Music has the ability to change someone’s life, all we need to do is open our hearts

Update #4: FASTING SEASON
To welcome this fasting month as we approach the holy month of Ramadhan, there was this one Javanese tradition I loved to do with my Mbak-Ti, and this year is of no exception. We prepared home-made sticky rice topped with steamed grated coconut and soy bean powder; Served them beautifully in a box, along with some Javanese cakes & pisang-raja; Hand-wrote “Selamat Menunaikan Ibadah Puasa” in cards on top of the boxes; Send them out to all neighbours around us. I must say I’m proud to be bringing Javanese tradition to Jakarta :). To all of you who do fast, I wish you a very blessed fasting season!
