New York Fashion Week, Fall 2008

It’s been days since the last day of New York Fashion Week, but I still can’t get it out of my head! As an image consultant, and as someone who’s very passionate about fashion business, I could never miss Fashion Weeks from around the world! Gracias a the internet, we can get the full frontal front-row views of nearly every designers we wish to see. That’s right! The world is soooo FLAT! (especially during fashion weeks) :)

So, I thought I’m gonna share some of my favorite looks from some of the designers who (according to me) did extremely well this season in New York Fashion Week (February 1st-8th, 2008). From each collection, you’re going to see my 4 top picks. Enjoy!

I expected to see lots of structured tailoring, and was very pleasantly surprised to find a languorous satin bathrobe dress in her first look. Not to mention the so many others jewel-tone chiffon dresses in her collection. Her jackets & coats are definitely going to be some of the most sought after this season!

Heavy embroidery meets clean silhouettes, or sophisticated accent on a simple dress . Brilliant! Everything is done to just the right balance a la Monique Lhuillier. Her collection is simply stunning!

It’s Oscar de la Renta, people. Need I say more? :)

Their inspiration for this season’s collection come from the seventies, with Bianca Jagger as their muse. Three of my four picks are their gala looks, as I’ve always been amazed at how well they project elegance and grace in their eveningwears.

This season he’s done a terrific job at recreating retro sixties looks with a modern glamour touch.

Her theme was “Foreign Affair”, with her imaginary muse visiting Berlin, Shanghai, and Manhattan in the forties. It’s wonderful to see how DVF could still so powerfully speak through separates, just as she has always done through her dresses.

Still can’t get enough of them? Well, the good news is that London Fashion Week is on right at this moment. God bless Fashion Weeks! :)
