I have oftentimes heard people say: “Oh..I’m only 18 years old”; “I’m only 20″; or “I’m still 23 years old”, and so on. I’m sure you’ve heard these around you too.

The danger of putting oneself in this frame of mind is that before one realises, time flies away and one hasn’t done anything significant. The thing is, we may never quite feel that we have fully matured. Our life is a journey, and we keep learning and growing and changing along the way. When we were 17, we thought people who were 24 must be entirely grown-up. But when the time comes and we hit 24, honestly, we don’t see ourselves as being THAT mature yet. It would seem sensible if I say that there really is NO destination in life. The journey, is the life itself.

There must be the FIRST time for us to do something, or in truth, anything! If we are capable of achieving something that our peers of our age might not be, why won’t we just go all-out for it? If people keep saying you CAN’T do this and you CAN’T do that, well…Why don’t you prove them wrong? I personally firmly believe that we’re never too young, nor too old to learn or do something BIG or new (that we really yearn to do). So, I have never said: “I’m only 20 years old”…nor will I ever say: “It’s too late..I’m already 80 years old”.

The wisest thing to do, from the way I see it, is to hit the balance. Hit that balance in a way that we keep the child within us & our inquisitive nature alive, yet maintain enough courage to strive forward & go out of our comfort zones everytime we face a new challenge. Only then will we keep improving ourselves! It’s a CAN-DO mentality that we should hang on to, people!

So, GO FOR IT! Whatever you think is your calling or passion, or whatever it is that you think you MUST DO in this lifetime. Believe in yourself! When everybody says “DON’T!”, I say: “DO..!!” And Do it NOW!
