As you know, we’re very fond of the whole ideas of outdoor adventures & getting closer to nature. My sister & I are always looking for new ways to spend our new year’s eve. Last year we went all the way to the south coast, going all the way into the untouched woods, enjoying the sights of sea turtles resting on the sea shore, and playing with baby sea turtles!
This time we went rafting with a couple of friends, and that was a hell lot of fun! The fact that we’re in the raining season means: wilder river. Loved it!
The only thing that I found rather disconcerting is knowing that the people are not taking a good care of their environment: they litter badly in the river. I looked to my right, there was a detergent package. I looked to my left, there was this “Lays” potato chips package. God knows what other things they dispose in the river. The water smells really bad, and I believe that’s what the accumulated human beans’ secretion into the river has done over the years.
Unpleasant odour & non-recyclable litters aside, the rafting should have been a blast. One of my new year hopes is for us to start increasing environmental awareness, appreciating and preserving our nature, in whatever ways we can. There are severe environmental issues going on in the world right now, even as we speak at this very second. Seriously, we need to stop destructing and start taking responsiblity.
